ECO-EFFICIENCY AND CARBON CREDITS

Swix aims to lead the search for greater sustainability in the residential property sphere by enhancing the eco-efficiency of its portfolio properties through a combination of advanced building materials and smart technologies.

Swix will be eligible to unlock Carbon Credits in each of its operating countries around the world as a reward for the carbon offsetting achieved and accredited through Energy Performance Certification.

Swix reduces the overall energy consumption of its portfolio properties by implementing the following Eco-living practices:

• Swix collaborates with leading bathroom manufacturers HansGrohe to exclusively integrate the latest water saving technology known as “Eco Smart'' technology into each of its properties.

• This includes dual flush toilets, aerated flow taps and shower valves as well as water efficient appliances.

• Swix carries out a dedicated thermal insulating treatment to high-leakage zones such as walls, ceilings, door and window thresholds.

• Insulative wall and ceiling coverings are applied throughout the property with advanced sealing and glazing techniques applied to the doorways and windows.

• Swix modifies the electrical specification of each property to retrofit Grade A energy efficient LED lighting to ceilings and lamps.

Swix validates the increase in eco-efficiency of each of its properties through an independent Energy Performance Survey & Certification upon completion of upgrades.

The SWIX community believes that social responsibility is as important as profit maximisation. In fact, we strongly believe that creating positive environmental and social impact increases business profits in the long term.

SWIX DAO strives to achieve a positive climate impact by totally offsetting its carbon emissions, with the aim of creating and collecting a surplus of carbon emission credits. This is achieved by committing to the highest standards of eco-efficiency, which largely reduce property energy consumption.

Countries in which SWIX DAO operates will reward SWIX according to the volume of carbon offsetting generated by its properties in the form of Carbon Credits. Such credits may be bridged through solutions like the Toucan Protocol and become part of the Swix DAO Treasury, increasing the intrinsic value backing each SWIX.

Community members who hold staked SWIX will be able to vote on how these credits and other treasury owned resources should be managed.
